2024 Plant List

So Many Great Choices For Your Gardens And Containers This Season!

We will have a wide selection of vegetables, herbs, flowers and native plants available over the course of the 2024 season. Cool weather/early spring plants are available beginning in March/April depending on the weather, warm weather/late spring plants are available beginning in late April or early May. We are planning to have all the following varieties, and possibly many more, but it is always dependent on germination, weather conditions and seed supply.

All plants will be listed in the Online Farmstand as they become available. Please note that if a plant is listed as “Sold Out” it will be back in stock soon - we’re just waiting for the next generation to be ready for planting. Check back often!

Early Spring, Cool Season Seedlings

Generally available in late March, April, May, June and early July. Many Can Also Be Grown Through The Summer And Fall.

  • Arugula - Classic arugula

  • Beets - Dark Red or Chioggia (red and white striped) varieties

  • Bok Choi - Dark green leaves with white stems

  • Broccoli - Heat tolerant broccoli variety, good for spring, summer and fall production

  • Cabbage - Green, Purple/Red, or Napa varieties, all produce medium sized heads

  • Cauliflower - Classic white cauliflower, plant in spring and harvest in the late summer/early fall

  • Celeriac - AKA celery root, plant in mid spring, harvest in mid to late fall

  • Celery - Tango, an adaptable celery variety, does well under a range of growing conditions

  • Chard - Bright Lights Mix, great for spring, summer and fall growing

  • Collard Greens - Large, round leaves, great for spring, summer and fall growing

  • Escarole - Natacha Escarole has tender leaves with a mild slightly bitter flavor

  • Kale - Garden Mix, Curly Green Leaf or Dark Green Smooth Dinosaur Kale (aka Toscano Kale aka Lacinato Kale aka Dragon Kale) varieties, great for spring, summer and fall growing

  • Kohlrabi - Purple bulb with green leaves

  • Carolina Reaper - Currently ranked as the hottest pepper in the world

  • Cayenne - Long, hot pepper, ripen red

  • Early Jalapeno - An early season, medium sized jalapeno pepper, great for ripening to red for hot sauce

  • Fish Serrano – Heirloom serrano pepper, beautiful streaking colors, with great taste

  • Santo Domingo Serrano – Large serrano pepper, starts green, ripens red

  • Ghost - Until recently, the 3rd hottest pepper in the world, aka Bhut Jolokia

  • Jedi Jalapeno - A mid season, larger sized jalapeno pepper

  • Hot Paper Lantern Red Habanero - Very spicy red habaneros. These ripen well in New England.

  • Scotch Bonnet - Very hot pepper in the habanero family, ripen orange

  • Ground Cherries – AKA Husk Cherries, plants produce tiny yellow/orange ground cherries

  • Bitter melon - cucumber relative has an elongated shape resembling a squash; pastel green and bumpy; Jade Dragon variety, quite bitter. Great in stir fry, but has many culinary and medicinal uses!

  • Clemson Spineless Okra - 3-5” green okra pods, variety does well in New England, beautiful flowers

  • Callaloo - Red and green leafy plant grows well in summer when other leafy greens slow down, AKA red vegetable amaranth

  • Fennel - Big rounded bulbs with anise flavor

  • Provider Bush Beans - Heavy producer of green beans. Plant multiple rounds to ensure a supply all season. Grow well from seed too.

  • Rhubarb - Large and tender stalks. Do not harvest in first year; rhubarb benefits from an establishment year.

  • Strawberries, Alpine - Produces small, conical berries

  • Strawberries, classic - Albion, an everbearing, day-neutral variety, produces large berries

  • Tomatillos - Classic green tomatillos, get 2 or more plants for pollination, unless your neighbors have them too

  • Cilantro - Plant repeatedly, all cilantro goes to seed within 4 to 8 weeks. If you let it go to seed (coriander) and water the seeds in, you'll have new plants germinating soon

  • Lavender, Sweet - Classic lavender, prefers well drained soil, perennial

  • Lavender, Provence - Perennial. Grows shrub-like, up to 24" tall with purple flowers.

  • Lemon Balm - Strongly lemon flavored perennial, grows like mint, perennial

  • Lemon Grass - East Indian lemon grass, annual

  • Lemon Verbena – Strong lemon flavored leaves, makes a great tea, annual

  • Lovage – celery like perennial commonly used in soups

  • Sweet Marjoram - Sweet marjoram, annual

  • Mint - Classic spearmint, perennial or choose Mint Julep or Mojito Mint, both varieties of spearmint

  • Variegated peppermint – classic peppermint flavor with multicolored leaves, perennial

  • Rosemary, Hill Hardy - Classic rosemary, not actually hardy, grow as an annual or bring indoors, but some years it does make it through the winter outside if we mulch it heavily

  • Sage – Extracta, a classic broadleaf sage, perennial; also choose from Golden,Tri-Colored, and Grower's Friend

  • Pineapple Sage – beautiful annual plant with red flower spikes beloved by pollinators

  • Sorrel - Perennial leafy crop with dark red veins. Beautiful plant, intense lemony flavor

  • Stevia - Sweet leaves that can be used as a sugar alternative

  • Tarragon - Prefers well drained soil. Mild anise flavor. Annual in New England

  • German Winter Thyme - Perennial, short lavender flowers, grows as a mat and spreads

  • Lavender Thyme - Low growing perennial, with hints of lavender

  • Summer Savory - Peppery flavor adds spice to dishes, annual

  • Winter Savory - Perennial cousin of summer savory, flavor is more pungent

The Perfect Start

  • Our seedlings are grown in Vermont Compost Potting Soil—a certified organic potting soil we strongly recommend.

  • We fertilize with Neptune's Harvest Fish and Kelp Emulsion liquid organic fertilizer, also highly recommended.

  • We use certified organic seeds when available, and we never use GMO seeds. Our seedlings, like our produce, are "All Natural", and we encourage you to continue growing them naturally in your own gardens and containers.
