We grow about 5 acres of mixed vegetables, herbs, cut flowers and seedlings on multiple sites in Westport, MA
Our Growing Practices
We grow all our crops without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, and we never use GMO seeds. We test the soil before we plant, to make sure the soil is healthy and suitable for growing food without synthetic inputs. We strive to develop sustainable, low-input systems for all our operations. We use low till practices to help us build soil health. Organic certification is a multi-year process, and has been made more complicated by our changing sites. Certification is something we may pursue in the future. For the moment, we are "all natural."
Our Produce
We grow a wide variety of seasonal produce, available for purchase through our Online Farmstand, year round Farmer’s Markets, and our Seasonal CSA Box Shares/Single Week CSA Vegetable boxes. Some of our most popular crops include our collections of heirloom garlic and tomato varieties.
The Online Farmstand is open all year, with weekly pick ups except for a few short breaks around holidays. Our inventory is restocked at the beginning of every week and pre-orders are due by Friday morning.
Our Plants
Our seedlings are grown in Vermont Compost Potting Soil—a certified organic potting soil we strongly recommend. We fertilize with Neptune's Harvest Fish and Kelp Emulsion liquid organic fertilizer, also highly recommended.
We use certified organic seeds when available, and we never use GMO seeds. Our seedlings, like our produce, are "All Natural", and we encourage you to continue growing them naturally in your own gardens and containers.
We are committed to educating people about farming and gardening. We hope to inspire people to think about where their food comes from and to try growing some of their own. Even a tiny garden can grow a lot of food!
