Happy New Year from The Neighborhood Farm!

We are planning for next season.  I have a table covered with seed catalogs which are plastered with dozens and dozens of post it notes.  This is the time of year when growing anything and everything seems possible.  The realities of limited time and space haven't intruded yet.  I am making a dream list which I will narrow down over the next few weeks.  If you want to do some dreaming yourself, check out Fedco seeds for the fantastic descriptions and Johnny's seeds for the beautiful photographs.  If you would like to request that we grow a particular vegetable or variety of vegetable, please email me and let me know.  I'll try to work it into the mix.

We are involved with the Needham Community Farm project.  We support all projects to bring more local food production and agricultural education to our area, but we think this project is particularly worthy.  The Needham Community Farm is a nonprofit organization with a mission to bring an educational organic farm to Needham.  The farm would be similar to the ones in Natick and Newton.  If you are a Needham resident, we are asking you to sign an online petition to support the use of the NIKE site for a community farm.  For more information, visit www.needhamfarm.org/nike.html.  If you have questions about the project, you can email needhamfarm@rcn.com.  To sign the petition online, visit www.gopetition.com/petitions/nike-site-farm.html.

Another welcome addition to town is the Green Needham Collaborative.  This organization is working on a number of environmental initiatives.  More information is available at their website www.greenneedham.org/index.php.

We wish you all a happy and healthy new year!
